The competition is to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in areas such as new materials, advanced manufacturing and new energy sources and has been held annually since 2006.
The first round of the competition for the North of England was held in Manchester in July 2019. There was a second-round in China and Yue’s project was one of only 300 from around the world to make the final in Guangzhou in December.
