Future Metrology Hub Roadmapping Workshop held on 16 January 2020

Over 50 delegates from the Hub consortium and UK academic community have attended the Hub’s first Research Roadmapping event. The event was held on campus at our spoke partner Loughborough University, in the Burleigh Court Hotel and Conference Centre and facilitated by the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM).

The aim of the day was to build upon the industrial roadmap being developed by the High-Value Manufacturing Catapult Centres and determine the academic research priorities that the UK metrology community should focus on in response.  The outputs from the event will be used to shape the Hub strategy over the second half of the project, identify potential future collaborations and inform our plan for future feasibility study funding calls.

The wide range of delegates ensured a comprehensive breadth of opinions and discussion to meet our aim and also provided an important opportunity to network and build partnerships. The event was well received and we were delighted with a level of engagement and contribution. In particular, it was great to see delegates from different institutions working together in interdisciplinary teams to identify potential future projects.

A formal report will be published in the near future to detail the findings from the day.
